RYE TASTING WITH FRED MINNICK AT DERBY MUSEUM CAFE
The Brotherhood was greeted by the lovely Bryn and Brandy at the check-in station, then provided with a special summer welcome cocktail: A delicious bourbon lemonade slushy! Bourbon expert and author Fred Minnick did a tasting for us of Kentucky vs. Indiana rye whiskeys. Silver Spoon catering provided us with a variety of tasty appetizers including bourbon meatballs, country ham wontons with bourbon mustard, caprese skewers, bourbon cheese spread, crackers, breads and mixed nuts. Being a stop on the Urban Bourbon Trail, Gina the bartender had a wide selection of bourbons to choose from. We had several door prizes including a bottle of rye whiskey and two pairs of tickets to an upcoming bourbon tasting at the Derby Museum. We finished the evening on the patio with complementary cigars provided by Cox’s Smokers Outlet!
