Formed in 1880, the Kentucky Distillers' Association began when 32 distillers met at the Galt House in Louisville and organized to protect our signature spirit from “needless and obstructive laws and regulations.” More recently the KDA created the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® tour, which has quickly become one of the state’s fastest-growing tourism attractions. And it’s equally as proud that Bourbon is “America’s Official Native Spirit,” a leading export and growing international symbol of Kentucky craftsmanship and tradition.
Our special guest, Eric Gregory - President of the KDA, gave us the inside scoop on what's happening in the red-hot bourbon industry. We met in a "man cave" known as the Eagle Room at the Sports & Social Club, 4th Street Live. It was a fun time as we snacked on pretzel sticks with beer cheese & honey mustard, vegetable spring rolls with ginger soy sauce, mini burgers with tomato and 1000 island dressing, and warm crispy tortilla chips with salsa & queso. And Jeff the bartender served up a variety of bourbons including $5 Jim Beam and Old Forester.
